Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Ephesians 4:25-27
INSIGHT:
A true Christian ought to be characterized by authenticity, honesty and integrity. Unfortunately, falsehood has made its way in many Christian circles. Dealing with Christian business men is no longer a stress-free endeavor. Today, we are encouraged to speak the truth to one another because we are all part of the same family. We ought to be speaking the truth to those who are not even in the Christian family in order to win them over.
Learning to manage our emotions, our temper is another important point in our text. Self-control or temperance is part of the fruit of the Spirit. The point is clearly made that getting angry is not a sinful act but it is an open door for devil to tempt us to commit a sinful and regrettable act. Hence the importance of yielding constantly to the Holy Spirit and exercise self-control at all cost. Do all that is possible to walk a spirit of forgiveness and tolerance.
Un vrai chrétien doit être caractérisé par l’authenticité, l’honnêteté et l’intégrité. Malheureusement, le mensonge a fait son chemin dans de nombreux cercles chrétiens. Traiter avec des hommes d’affaires chrétiens n’est plus une entreprise sans stress. Aujourd’hui, nous sommes encouragés à nous dire la vérité car nous faisons tous partie de la même famille. Nous devrions dire la vérité à ceux qui ne sont même pas dans la famille chrétienne afin de les gagner.
Apprendre à gérer nos émotions, notre tempérament est un autre point important de notre texte. La maîtrise de soi ou la tempérance fait partie du fruit de l’Esprit. Le point est clairement fait que se mettre en colère n’est pas un péché mais c’est une porte ouverte pour que le diable nous amene a pecher. D’où l’importance de s’abandonner constamment au Saint-Esprit et d’exercer à tout prix la maîtrise de soi. Faites tout ce qui est possible pour marcher avec un esprit de pardon et de tolérance.

- Seigneur, accorde-nous d’être des hommes de femmes intègres.
