But the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who found out where Jesus was should report it so that they might arrest him. John 11:57
INSIGHT:
The word was out; order had been given to find Jesus and arrest Him because it was better for one man to die than the nation to perish according to the high priest. When the blind lead the blind, the world is in a very bad shape. In fact, nothing has changed really. Even today, when you stand for what is right, you will find opposition on the way. Say what everyone wants to hear and you will make many friends. But begin to shed light on what the truth of the word of God really is and the world will turn against you. The religious leader turn against Jesus because He saw straight through each of them. It did not take a long time for Jesus to uncover their hypocrisy. It was better for them to protect their seeming peace than to do the will of God. And many today find themselves in the same situation, trying to defend the undefensible in the name of tolerance.
What matters the most is not what the world has to offer us or think about us but rather what God has commissioned us to do as true disciples.
Le mot était sorti ; ordre avait été donné de trouver Jésus et de l’arrêter parce qu’il valait mieux qu’un seul homme meure que la nation périsse selon le souverain sacrificateur. Quand les aveugles conduisent les aveugles, le monde va très mal. En fait, rien n’a vraiment changé. Même aujourd’hui, lorsque vous défendez ce qui est juste, vous rencontrerez de l’opposition sur votre chemin. Dites ce que tout le monde veut entendre et vous vous ferez de nombreux amis. Mais commencez à faire la lumière sur ce qu’est réellement la vérité de la parole de Dieu et le monde se retournera contre vous. Le chef religieux se retourne contre Jésus parce qu’il a vu clair en chacun d’eux. Il ne fallut pas longtemps à Jésus pour découvrir leur hypocrisie. Il valait mieux pour eux protéger leur paix apparente que de faire la volonté de Dieu. Et beaucoup se retrouvent aujourd’hui dans la même situation, tentant de défendre l’indéfendable au nom de la tolérance.
Ce qui importe le plus n’est pas ce que le monde a à nous offrir ou à penser de nous, mais plutôt ce que Dieu nous a commandé de faire en tant que vrais disciples.

- Lord, teach us to stand for the truth always.
- Lord, help us be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
- Lord, help us seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
- Seigneur, apprends-nous à défendre toujours la vérité.
- Seigneur, aide-nous à être sages comme des serpents et innocents comme des colombes.
- Seigneur, aide-nous à chercher premièrement le royaume de Dieu et sa justice.
