Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.  Ephesians 6:5-9

INSIGHT:

Doing things with a good heart is always a good idea. A good rule of thumb as prescribed even by the Bible is to do to others as we would like done to us. It does not matter what the situation, the people or circumstances are, we are still called upon to do everything as to the Lord. God is our ultimate Master, our Boss. With Him, there is no shortcuts. He sees through everything and know our motivations perfectly. The important point is that our rewarder is the Lord, not man. In other word unless God prompts someone heart favorably on your behalf, nothing good will happen. Knowing that our rewarder is always just and right, we should be motivated to do good all the time. Let the servant be obedient to their master, and the master be just as well. The point is not who is master and who is the servant but it is to realize that God the ultimate master is watching from heaven.

Verse of the Day:

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24
