So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his won cross, to the place called The Place of a skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha. There they cruficied him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. john 19:17-18
INSIGHT:
Certain names and places have eternal significance. Golgotha is such a place because of the importance of what took place there. A necessary transaction took place between the Son and the Father. One had to suffer to satisfy the other. Sounds a bit like selfishness on the part of the Father, but that’s only if we do not understand His nature. Jesus, the Son, took upon himself our sins and paid the required price to satisfy the righteousness of the Father. Jesus satisfied the Father and soften His heart by shedding his blood for all believers. Therefore, Golgotha becomes a place of reconciliation between God and us. We must remember that the price has been paid indeed and the veil torn from top to bottom. God, by his mercies, has reached down to us and delivered us from the penalty of sin. Golgotha is then a place of victory in the midst of all the suffering.
Certains noms et lieux ont une signification éternelle. Golgotha est un tel endroit en raison de l’importance de ce qui s’y est passé. Une transaction nécessaire a eu lieu entre le Fils et le Père. L’un devait souffrir pour satisfaire l’autre. Cela ressemble un peu à de l’égoïsme de la part du Père, mais c’est seulement si nous ne comprenons pas Sa nature. Jésus, le Fils, a pris sur lui nos péchés et a payé le prix requis pour satisfaire la justice du Père. Jésus a satisfait le Père et a adouci son cœur en versant son sang pour tous les croyants. Par conséquent, le Golgotha devient un lieu de réconciliation entre Dieu et nous. Il faut se rappeler que le prix a bien été payé et le voile déchiré de fond en comble. Dieu, par sa miséricorde, s’est approché de nous et nous a délivrés du châtiment du péché. Le Golgotha est alors un lieu de victoire au milieu de toutes les souffrances.

- Lord, help me walk according to the victory of the cross.
- Lord, teach me to embrace my new identity.
- Seigneur, accorde-moi un esprit de gratitude.
- Seigneur, aide-moi à marcher selon la victoire de la croix.
- Seigneur, apprends-moi à embrasser ma nouvelle identité.
