Verse: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.” 1 Cor.13:4-6
Insight:
One of the most important branches on the tree of love is selflessness. And God exemplified this one so perfectly in sending His only Son to die on the cross for us. God is not selfish. To be selfish is to make everything about you; to insist on having your way even when there is no way. It is difficult to walk or be married to a selfish person because the environment is not conducive to growth or freedom. There is a constant possibility of conflict and one person’s feelings or ambitions are silenced for the sole profit of the other.
Let’s follow the example set before us by our Lord Jesus Christ is sacrificing his life for us.
L’altruisme est l’une des branches les plus importantes de l’arbre de l’amour. Et Dieu a si parfaitement illustré cela en envoyant Son Fils unique mourir sur la croix pour nous. Dieu n’est pas égoïste. Être égoïste, c’est chercher a tout prix ses propres interets. Il est difficile de marcher ou d’être marié à une personne égoïste car l’environnement n’est pas propice à la croissance ou à la liberté. Il y a une possibilité constante de conflit et les sentiments ou les ambitions de l’un sont réduits au silence au seul profit de l’autre.
Suivons l’exemple qui nous a ete donné par notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ qui a sacrifie sa vie pour nous.

Lord grant me a spirit of selflessness.
Lord teach me to love genuinely
Lord help me walk by the Spirit
Seigneur delivre moi de l’esprit d’egoisme
Seigneur apprends-moi à aimer sincèrement
Seigneur aide-moi à marcher par l’Esprit.
Take Home:
Our Lord Jesus Christ manifested selfless love towards us by sacrificing His life for us. Let’s follow His example.
Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ a manifesté un amour désintéressé envers nous en sacrifiant sa vie pour nous. Suivons son exemple.
