I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:11
Insight:
Jesus makes a clear difference between Him—the good shepherd—and the hired man—the devil. One lays down his own life, lives a life of sacrifice, pays the price on behalf of the sheep whereas the other runs away when trouble arise. Whom do you belong to? Jesus said He is the opposite of everything that is bad, meaning He is good. In this life, good shepherds do not lead their sheep to perdition. They assume ownership all the way. They protect, feed and care for their sheep in all circumstances. There is a mutual trust between sheep and shepherd. They know each other; there is a real connection there.
We hear very often “how do we know the will of God for my life?” Here, Jesus provides an answer to this important question, “my sheep know my voice.” Stay tuned to the frequency of the Holy Spirit and you will hear for sure the voice of the Lord and the will of God in a given situation. Follow the leading of the good shepherd and do not be distracted by all the other voices around.
Jésus fait une nette différence entre Lui – le bon berger – et le mercenaire – le diable. L’un donne sa propre vie, vit une vie de sacrifice, paie le prix pour les brebis tandis que l’autre s’enfuit lorsque des problèmes surviennent. A qui appartiens-tu ? Jésus a dit qu’il est le contraire de tout ce qui est mauvais, ce qui signifie qu’il est bon. Dans cette vie, les bons bergers ne mènent pas leurs brebis à la perdition. Ils en assument la propriété jusqu’au bout. Ils protègent, nourrissent et soignent leurs brebis en toutes circonstances. Il y a une confiance mutuelle entre les brebis et le berger. Ils se connaissent; il y a là une vraie connection.
Nous entendons très souvent « comment connaitre la volonté de Dieu pour ma vie ? Ici, Jésus donne une réponse à cette question importante : « Mes brebis connaissent ma voix. Reste juste brancher sur la fréquence du Saint-Esprit et tu entendras à coup sûr la voix du Seigneur et la volonté de Dieu dans une situation donnée. Suis la direction du bon berger et ne te laisse pas distraire par toutes les autres voix autour.

- Lord, strengthen the faith of your church.
- Seigneur, aide-moi à suivre ta direction jusqu’au bout.
- Seigneur, fortifie ma foi.
- Seigneur, fortifie la foi de ton église.
