But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask. “Jesus said to her, “your brother will rise again.” John 11:22-23
INSIGHT:
The amazing story of the death and resurrection of Lazarus shows us again that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Today, as you read this devotional, know that the Spirit that helped Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead is the same that lives in you if you are a Christian. The key is to believe. Jesus asked Lazarus’ sister Martha if she believed that death was no longer the portion of the believer. Her reply was “Yes, Lord”. And you, do you believe that you will not die the second death? If Jesus tarries, we will all die someday, but not the second death. This story shook the faith of many in the surroundings of Jerusalem. Some turn away from Jesus and join the party of the Pharisees while others reinforced their trust and faith in Him. Miracles still happen today and they are supposed to help strengthen our faith. Like Martha, I want to encourage you to believe that whatever you ask in the name of Jesus, He will do it.
L’étonnante histoire de la mort et de la résurrection de Lazare nous montre à nouveau que Jésus est le Messie, le Fils du Dieu vivant. Aujourd’hui, alors que vous lisez cette dévotion, sachez que l’Esprit qui a aidé Jésus à ressusciter Lazare d’entre les morts est le même qui vit en vous si vous êtes chrétien. La clé est de croire. Jésus a demandé à la sœur de Lazare, Marthe, si elle croyait que la mort n’était plus la part du croyant. Sa réponse a été “Oui, Seigneur”. Et vous, croyez-vous que vous ne mourrez pas de la seconde mort ? Si Jésus tarde, nous mourrons tous un jour, mais pas la seconde mort. Cette histoire a ébranlé la foi de beaucoup dans les environs de Jérusalem. Certains se détournent de Jésus et rejoignent le parti des pharisiens tandis que d’autres renforcent leur confiance et leur foi en lui. Les miracles se produisent encore aujourd’hui et ils sont censés aider à renforcer notre foi. Comme Marthe, je veux vous encourager à croire que tout ce que vous demanderez au nom de Jésus, il le fera.

- Lord, teach me to have a resilient faith.
- Lord, teach me to grow in the knowledge of your name.
- Lord, show yourself strong in every situation that the church is facing today.
- Seigneur, apprends-moi à avoir une foi résiliente.
- Seigneur, apprends-moi à grandir dans la connaissance de ton nom.
- Seigneur, montre-toi fort dans chaque situation à laquelle l’église est confrontée aujourd’hui.
