While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. John 17:12
INSIGHT:
Jesus reveals deep secret of His intimate relationship with God the Father. All that belong to the Father–including the elects—also belong to the Son. Jesus declared that he lost none of those the Father entrusted to His care. And that refers not only to the disciples but also all who believe. No matter what the circumstances of this life are, it is very reassuring to know that you and I belong to the creator of this universe. Jesus’ prayer is a deep expression of His love and compassion towards His church, His bride. He had asked the Father to protect the disciples and keep them united by the power of His name. Jesus’ heart did not change. He has the same sentiment towards His church, to sanctify her and set her apart to manifest the glory of the Father as He did with disciples. He is sending all of us to the world, not to be hated by her but rather to be her light.
Jésus révèle le secret profond de sa relation intime avec Dieu le Père. Tout ce qui appartient au Père, y compris les élus, appartient également au Fils. Jésus a déclaré qu’il n’avait perdu aucun de ceux que le Père avait confiés à ses soins. Et cela se réfère non seulement aux disciples mais aussi à tous ceux qui croient. Quelles que soient les circonstances de cette vie, il est très rassurant de savoir que vous et moi appartenons au créateur de cet univers. La prière de Jésus est une expression profonde de son amour et de sa compassion envers son église, son épouse. Il avait demandé au Père de protéger les disciples et de les garder unis par la puissance de son nom. Le cœur de Jésus n’a pas changé. Il a le même sentiment envers son Église, la sanctifier et la mettre à part pour manifester la gloire du Père, comme il l’a fait avec les disciples. Il nous envoie tous dans le monde, non pas pour être haïs par elle mais plutôt pour être sa lumière.

- Lord, help me walk according to my new identity, a child of God.
- Lord, help me continue to be the light in this world.
- Lord, empower your church to be a great witness in this world.
- Seigneur, aide-moi à marcher selon ma nouvelle identité, un enfant de Dieu.
- Seigneur, aide-moi à continuer d’être la lumière dans ce monde.
- Seigneur, donne à ton église le pouvoir d’être un grand témoin dans ce monde.
